Mobile Spray Tanning at Home: What to Expect From Setup to Glow

Booking a mobile spray tan means the salon comes to you. A certified artist arrives with a compact pop-up privacy tent, a portable HVLP airbrush system, extraction fan, and all the solution and prep supplies needed for a flawless application — all without you ever leaving your home, hotel suite, or event venue.

Before the artist arrives, clear a roughly 4×4 foot floor area near a standard electrical outlet with adequate lighting. Most setups take under three minutes, and the tent's weighted floor catches any overspray so your floors and walls stay clean. The extraction fan pulls airborne solution away from the room, keeping the air comfortable to breathe.

Once you step into the tent, the artist consults with you on your desired depth of color, reviews any skin sensitivities, and applies a barrier cream to your palms, cuticles, and the soles of your feet. The airbrush application itself typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, during which the artist controls spray distance and angle to blend seamlessly across your body.

After application, you'll stand briefly in front of the fan to dry — usually 5 to 10 minutes depending on the solution. You'll then slip into loose, dark clothing and flip-flops. The entire appointment, from arrival to departure, generally runs 25 to 40 minutes, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of your day.
