Salon and Studio Spray Tanning: What an In-Studio Appointment Offers

Not every provider is mobile. In-studio spray tanning offers dedicated ventilation, heated drying stations, and a retail aftercare bar — here's what to expect.

Salon and Studio Spray Tanning: What an In-Studio Appointment Offers

Some directory providers operate from a dedicated salon or studio rather than traveling to clients. An in-studio spray tan appointment offers a controlled environment that mobile setups can't fully replicate, and for some clients it's the preferred option.

Studios are built for the service. They typically feature dedicated ventilation walls or extraction systems that keep the air clear, heated drying stations so you can set your tan comfortably, and consistent lighting that helps the artist evaluate color as they work. The controlled temperature also supports more even development.

Many studios include a retail aftercare bar, so you can purchase the same sulfate-free body wash, gradual tan extender, or bronzing mousse your artist recommends, without a separate shopping trip. Some also offer add-on services in the same visit, such as teeth whitening or lash tinting, that a mobile artist may not carry.

The trade-off is travel: you go to the studio rather than the artist coming to you. When you browse listings, check whether a provider is marked as mobile, studio, or both, and choose the option that fits your schedule and the experience you want. A clearly labeled studio listing should not be mistaken for a mobile service.
